Friday night

The word for the day is syncopation and to begin, here's an instrumental from slide guitarist Roy Rogers.

The name of this tune isn't Rumba Blues. It isn't even Rhumba Blues. It's I Don't Play.

I posted a clip of this performance quite a while back and now all you'll get from that is an error message about a copyright claim. I'm not sure why they pulled it and left this one which has been up for two years but here it is. Welcome to the weekend.

So after these I ended up watching a bunch of rhumbas on YouTube. Steamy. I was trying to pick up the beat, but the sex was very distracting. I think it's supposed to be step-close-step, with a long pause, and all done very slowly, with, um, movements. I always lose my balance trying to do that sort of thing.

Anyway, I always enjoy your dance nights, pogge. These are fun enough performed in-chair.

Oh my, skdadl, I'm sure there was no intention to lead you astray. Nevertheless, if you ever wish to rhumba you aughta come to Cuba with me & Svend sometime! ;-)
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, that (RR) is some of the sweetest bottleneck ever recorded (never mind your c&w slide steel). Thanks, pogge!
