Opposition target Lunn over nuclear isotope fallout
Critics of the Conservative government are calling for the resignation of Natural Resources Minister Gary Lunn over what they call his interference with an arm's-length nuclear regulator."He should be fired, very clearly,'' Liberal Leader Stephane Dion said Wednesday.
Later in the story it's reported that Elizabeth May is getting in on this, too. If Layton hasn't said the same thing yet, I imagine he'll be along shortly now that the ice has been broken.
Lunn clearly tried to pressure a regulatory body into acting improperly. He clearly tried to predetermine the outcome of a hearing to amend the licence of the Chalk River reactor. And those actions are clearly an improper way for a cabinet minister to deal with an arms-length regulatory body. He should resign.

This was the NDP statement as of yesterday. I don't see an update yet.
As usual, Layton's lines are not carried in the MSM, and the NDP were first to speak on this issue. Granted, there speak was weak. As usual.
Sigh.
AAACK!!! How do I delete that horribly spelled and grammatically bad comment? I want to say,

They should rewrite based on Keen's narrative. I think there's more than enough there to call Lunn out of bounds.
The whole point of this fiasco is that GE wants in on Canada's nuclear facility (allowing them to tip their toe into the water before jumping in for bigger game in our country).
Really, Bevin? I mean, I would expect there's some sort of "up with the free market, down with regulation" con behind this action - we are talking about the CPC, after all - but I didn't know that there was any actual evidence pertaining to one specific corporation yet.
Can I have a link, so I can read all about it?
Politics'n'Poetry had something on this back in December.
