CBA reaction round up

| 11 Comments | No TrackBacks

James Bow provides his endorsements for the Canadian Blog Awards and offers a round up of other reactions here. It makes for a good read, even if POGGE gets short shrift in his endorsements. I mean come on, Stageleft? Never heard of them.

Remember to vote for your favourites beginning this Saturday.

And a sincere thanks to everyone who nominated us and supported us through round one.

Update: I must remember the value of smileys. Devon, a commenter on this post, takes great umbrage at my dismissal of Stageleft.

Do you realize how much of a prat you become by writing this sentence? As if the world is profoundly moved by your blog.

Get a life, and put things in perspective.

Ouch.

Anyway, for anyone visiting here for the first time, this post is having a little fun with both James and the Bunker Dwellers at Stageleft, who are longtime blogging acquaintances of mine.

Devon - Sorry, I should have put a smiley in there. It was very much a joke, as the Bunker dwellers at Stageleft, longtime blogging friends of mine, well know.

It's a funny place this blogosphere. So many people so quick to take offense and in a medium without the tone of voice and non-verbal queues we usually use.

It's a good reminder of just how much actual communication between people is non-verbal. I used to consider smileys annoying and cutesy little affectations, but at times like this, I am reminded that they definitely have a role to play.

Sit tight, Northern Boy. Emeelayou and Elisapi are on their with the ceremonial bunker ulus to perform the Ceremonial Rite of Congratulations. Don't worry; they won't be messing with anything that you type with. Heh heh.

Ah, great umbrage. In my experiences here, always something to be taken lightly ;-) ;-).

Excellent, former Tundra-dweller. I have local Elders Moise and Berna Wanderingspirit ready with their hide-skinning tools to create a traditional victory robe for you guys should you emerge the winners. Please refrain from shaving your back hair for a while. Furrier pelts make much nicer robes.

Devon should follow his own advice.

pft... the bunker knew you weren't serious POGGE, although Max did have her dander up for a while Lily was able to calm her down and get the troops under control :-)

The blogosphere and IRC are the great equalizers of our day, everybody reduced to letters, used to make words, that convey thoughts and ideas, that, hopefuuly, promote dialog. Unless there is a picture posted, or information given, we don't know with any real certainty the sex of the person we are discussing something with, their ethnic background, whether or not they are, or are not religious, or spiritual, or of what varity if they are. We don't know if they are tall, short, physically challenged, or young (well, sometimes the youth give themselves away), middle aged, or elderly.

-- we are all 100% equal through the letters we use to make the words, I love that part of it and wouldn't have it any other way.

I really do enjoy the "posters" and the "moderators" of this blog, they have vision, depth of knowledge and an admirable focus (not to mention a sense of humour).... but I gotta admit, I occasionally peek over at Damnation.

No, the writing is not as good, the commentary is lacking in depth, and the scope is restricted ,,, but, every so often,,, Damian does start a string about one of the important things in life ....

FOOTBALL.

croghan27

We love you too, croghan. And, although I can't do football, I do miss Damian.
