The day after

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

There was supposed to be a Friday cat blog yesterday but the intended subject started partying too early and wouldn't hold still for a picture.

Today he's just hungover.

That's Phillie, short for Filbert. I hope y'all are in better shape today than he is. And if not, I hope it was worth it.

And I hope everyone out there has a healthy and prosperous 2005. I'll also echo mahigan's sentiment:

And a global outbreak of sanity and cosmic justice would be nice as well. But that might be asking a bit much.

Lest J. Kelly think I really have "posted the cat" I do promise to resume ranting about real issues both domestic and foreign in the near future. I just know better than to promise exactly when right now.

One thing I'm not going to attempt is a year-end list of any kind. I'm in the process of updating my list of things to do and that's all the listing I can handle right now.

Peace.

pogge,

And Happy New Year to you and yours.

Now, you must tell us something about the provenance of these cats and credit their, em, "staffs."

And what equipment are you using for the photographs?

Love your cat -- he's very similar in appearance to my cat, Marbles, who is now 20 years old.

Happy New Year, pogge, melanie, cathie, Marbles, and all.

Provenance? Did I hear a call for provenance?

I happen to know that Filbert and his sister Olive were born behind a restaurant in Toronto's Kensington Market/Chinatown, where they spent just a few weeks too many (maybe twelve) before they were scooped up by a cat-rescue organization that does trap-spay-release of the mothers and adopts out the litters. At twelve weeks kittens have become pretty much ferals, and while they can and do come to love their people, they remain terrified of everyone else. Almost no one but moi ever sees Phillie and Ollie, who make a dash for the furnace room whenever the doorbell rings.

Almost no one has ever seen them ... until now.

Now, Melanie, I know that's probably not what you really meant by provenance, but it's a start, eh?

Equipment: it's a digital camera (I know it's here someplace) that I obviously have to learn more about. I also have a set of stern instructions from the headmaster about how to transmit. He can -- and no doubt will -- describe it all with much greater authority. I'm always amazed that it works.

That J. Kelly, eh? The cats are plotting a response.
